Pizza express party - Chris' birthday!

The food section of our blog was mainly intended for our own baking or food discoveries but we thought we'd kick it off with a post about the Pizza Express Party experience which Eve organised for my 29th birthday... I know, almost 30!

I get the impression most people in the UK don't actually know this is a thing, we had certainly not heard of it before it appeared one day online but.. you've seriously got to have a go! This was a surprise for me, my family and some friends were joining us for the fun too!

We got to the restaurant to find everyone had already arrived and had a table set out for us where we sat down. It took me at least a couple of minutes in the restaurant to notice the long table next to us with balls of dough, ready for each person to start making their pizza.

"Wait... are we making our OWN pizzas?!"

Then we got straight to it. One of the restaurant staff would give us a quick instruction and demonstration of each stage of making the pizza before letting us attempt best we could. Petr was our guy, definitely a 'pizza expert' and he made it a hilarious experience... we made him look like a total pro.

He had us stretching out the dough, tossing it wildly above our heads and hoping we would catch it and then adding a selection of our favourite toppings, they had all the classics and more to choose from (My choice is always pepperoni and chicken, Eve has mushrooms and black olives!).

Then they popped them all in to the pizza oven whilst we enjoyed a glass of Prosecco (included in the package) and their famous dough balls, if you haven't tried the Pizza Express Dough Balls...where have you been?!

Less than 10 minutes later our pizzas were served! It was crazy to think we had successfully made these amazing looking and incredibly tasty pizzas ha! When finished we all had tea and coffees and ate a homemade cake that Eve had baked for me - Chocolate chip sponge covered in white chocolate ganache (can you tell i'm a chocoholic?).

It was definitely a really fun and interactive experience, great to share with family and friends and, including drinks and dough-balls it's value for money at £21.95 per person...definitely recommended if you're a pizza lover!

As it was my birthday we vlogged it, so if you're interested in seeing our attempts at throwing pizza in to the air then check out the video below!

Thanks for reading our first blog post on the 'food' page, let us know in the comments what your favourite toppings are! x
